Should I be concerned about orthorexia?

Orthorexia can happen because you know all of these foods used to make you feel so sick and awful. Part of that is almost like an Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) tendency. One of the interesting things is, Myo-Inositol, which I talk about in the Antibodies Module, has been shown to reduce TSH by about one point, and it helps to control some OCD symptoms. So, I would be curious to see if you try the Myo-Inositol supplement, 600-700 mg a day, if that helps to reduce your TSH closer to 1. It's easier said than done, but you want to make sure that you're eating the least restrictive diet for yourself, because that’s actually part of healing too, is giving yourself choices. Michele Corey is a functional medicine nutritionist in New Mexico, who I just adore, and she has a book called The Thyroid Cure. She also has a clinic for functional medicine, and I know she does some emotional freedom techniques and coaching. So, she may be a potential person to think about working with. I also highly recommend the work of Mark David and Emily Rosen at the Institute of the Psychology of Eating.
