Should I be taking copper?

I used to recommend copper, but then I learned that copper toxicity can be a common potential problem in people with Hashimoto’s. Copper is one of those things that you need enough of, but not too much. Generally, for every 50mg of zinc, you should be taking 1mg of copper. Multivitamins should have that in balance. For people who are copper toxic, I don’t recommend any copper. Doing 30mg of zinc per day is likely going to be ok. When you get above 40 mg, you may start seeing a deficiency in copper levels.
